Isn't it good to see that their cutting the amount of red tape in the NHS

Before anybody asks I have not made this story up!

I read today that Doctors are being given tips to help them diagnose when someone is….

Dead.

Yes you read that right, ‘experts’ have decided that there is enough ambiguity in diagnosing death that Doctors need guidance.

The reports authors said Diagnosing Death could be difficult. The new guidance for the first time clearly spells out when it is appropriate to diagnose death.

The guidelines say the definition of death should be regarded as the irreversible loss of the capacity for consciousness, combined with irreversible loss of the capacity to breathe.

Well I’m sure we’ll all have more confidence in our doctors now that they have the guidelines which tell them if we’re no longer breathing that they can diagnoise that we've died. Otherwise who knows how they would have been able to tell.
